#5 - Communication

Communication means sharing information with other individuals. Communication means talking to an individual about what is going on and how you and that individual can fix the problem. When working with a team, you have to communicate back and forth because you and the team have to help each other out when a problem is complicated.

#4 - Teamwork

Teamwork is where you work together with a group that you are assigned to achieve a specific goal that you and that group want to achieve. Teamwork means that you and that group will have to work together, communicate with one another, and provide feedback regardless of the conflict that's going on the group. Teamwork is where your strength and weakness play a role in the group because someone has a weakness you can help them out by talking to them and getting them through it as a team. I can improve with this work ethic is by working in a group with some colleagues to where we can help each other when we don't understand something.

Social Media Lawsuit

On June 15, 2015, the Supreme Court of the United States decided that Elonis v. United States, there was a lawsuit filed against Elonis due to social media posts and free speech. Due to Elonis's wife leaving him and taking their kids, it lead him  to turn to Facebook to where he begin posting graphic and unappropriated rap lyrics. While posting graphic and unappropriated rap lyrics on Facebook he had use the name "Tone Dougie" as his personal name. In order, to make it clear that saw that name and saw what he posted on Facebook, he had to let others know that it wasn't directed towards on individual on Facebook. Elonis was later charged with five counts of communicating a threat to a individual about threatening by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The charges that were filed against Elonis was related to his co-workers, wife, law enforcement, a kindergarten teacher, and a Federal agent. When Elonis went to trial, he tried to argue that the unappropriated rap lyrics were related to a rapper that talked about killing his ex-wife. while at trial he argue with the jury about if they wanted to find him guilty they had to prove that they were actual threats made. The court denied his argument and said that he should be convicted if a reasonable individual could prove that they were actual threats. One respected individual had the court know that the person who post information on Facebook can make a person feel threaten or harm. The court tried to make the threats in a case. They failed to address that Free Speech is the First Amendment in the Constitution. Those kind of threats are referred to as "True Threats". The State Courts were influenced by Elonis decision that the state of mind they were in were own by the state's threats.

WE-#3 Respect

Respect is something that is given and receive. Respect is something you want others because you want them to treat you like they wanted to treated. Respect can define a person's personal experience and what they've gone through. Respect is something that earn. For me, when it comes to respect I can use help because sometimes when I speak to someone and how it comes out some take that disrespect.

WE #2- Attendance

The work ethic attendance means to me is this when a person shows up to work and class on time, its letting your boss and teacher know that you have good attendance and that you're determine and focus on your job and your class. My attendance can be improve by me showing up to my class early and not showing up late because when I show up I miss half of the class and important information that the teacher gives us.

WE #1- Character

What the work ethic character means to me is this character is how others see us as who we are as one individual. Character is how we handle ourselves in tough problems would we do what's right or would we do what's wrong and face the consequences. How I can improve with my work ethic character is how I let others look at me. How others look at me is not what I suspect it to be because they go off my character and not for who I really am.

My name is Ebony Jackson. I live in Bainbridge. I am a part-time student at Bainbridge State College. I am 25 years old. I have two handsome boys one is two years old and one is one years old. They can be a handful at times but I look at them as a blessing from God. My boys are what keep me motivate, determine, and to go hard because life is not easy and some don't want to see you succeed in life.
